Here’s the reality. The English national team has players that are marketed
as ‘world class’ by Sky Sports, ITV, English fans, the media etc. Italy got
to the Euro Cup final last year with a fairly average team(by their
standards) English fans then start admiring Pirlo, everyone else in the
world knew Pirlo was a top player before he walked over England. I’ll make
it easier for you: In a game that really really matters, when did England
last preform well? Tell me honestly.

Lmao some Scottish or Welsh cunt coming on here blabbing. While we are
supporting England next summer, you sad cunts will be sitting watching us
hoping we lose. SAD! Cunts. CMON ENGLAND

depends who we’re playing, great we are spoilt for choice between world
    class left backs

England pay their players just as much as the Spanish, Germany, Italian.
Can someone tell me why these countries can manage a successful domestic
league AND national team but England cannot? Very peculiar isn’t it? Maybe
it’s because these players from England aren’t as good as what people
think? and it’s just the foreign players in the EPL that cover up their
average talent? P.S i’m English, just don’t buy into the false optimism of
    the English game of football.

Well i am not English but i support England and CFC in EPL. I do think the
same. England players are with average skill and above avg experience. They
could not play one to one or could not keep possession to most of the teams
just because most of the players cant do it without a foreigner player in
his team. Same time, just because of their massive experience, they could
still stick on to a win on a level of 1-0, 2-1, and possibly against any
team đŸ™‚ Come on England :/

Actually I think England always get wrongly criticised. England is a
    brilliant squad with brilliant players.

Baines is so enthusiastic when he talks here, refreshing from the usual
boring short answers some players give, he’s very honest and down to earth

Excellent and creative leftback performances…. it had been many years to
see someone like Leighton to come by and I believe he is the right man to
replace the weary and predictable Ashley Cole. Is always good to see
England with the new manager in charge to take risk by injecting new and
creative players into the team. Hope to see England doing well in Brazil.

Yes I am looking forward to seeing England make another QF exit when they
come up against a decent team. Incidentally, when did England last beat a
Germany, Italy, Brazil, Argentina in a knock-out game when not hosting the
    tournament? Oh wait, never.

I think ‘drew’ against Italy is an overstatement. Wasn’t the possession
like 75-25%? If I recall, England didn’t put more than 5 passes together,
instead they just passed back to Joe Hart who kicked the ball up field.
Typically English football, the ol’ kick ‘n rush. Also the words ‘Rooney’
and ‘pace’ go together like the words chalk and cheese.

Leeds and England supporter..like me. Yes I’ve seen a few idiots saying how
badly we’ll do…shame they ain’t brave enough to say which country they’re
    from..lol. 3-0 to Leeds on Saturday. M.O.T. W.A.L.L.

  12. yazoo178

No, I am English. I just don’t buy the hype like the rest of you who think
that these ‘top EPL’ players are as good as what they’re built up to be.

”when did England last beat a Germany, Italy, Brazil, Argentina in a
knock-out game when not hosting the tournament?” i) Beat Germany, Italy,
Brazil, Argentina ii) Knock out game iii) Not hosting the tournament That’s
a lot of stipulations. We had the hand of god incident. We lost several
times on pks. You’re being uncharitable.

True Cole is a more defensive left back and Baines can pretty much play as
a winger on top of being a quality left back. I just feel his performances
in the attacking England that we all want to see (his crosses are sublime)
warrant his place in the starting 11 more than Ashley Cole.
